In a large pot add the pork roast and enough water to cover and add salt and pepper to taste. Cook on medium heat after it comes to a slow boil boil for about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours, adding water to keep it covered. Take the roast out of the pot and put on a plate and cover with foil to keep warm. Add the Sauerkraut to the water you have just taken the roast out of. Cook on medium heat until it comes to a slow boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes and then take the Sauerkraut out of the pot and put in a serving dish. Now make the dumplings according to the bisquick box and drop them into the pork roast- Sauerkraut water and cook as directed.
My grandma would always make mashed potatoes to put the sauerkraut over.
