Pear Upside-Down Cake

Your guests will flip for this fruity cake, which uses boxed yellow cake mix.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 or 3 pears (cored, peeled, and cut lengthwise into 1/4-inch-thick slices)
  • 1 (15.25- or 18.25-oz) box yellow cake mix
Directions:

1. Pour butter into a 9-by-13-inch cake pan. Stir in brown sugar, then cinnamon. Arrange pears on butter mixture.

2. Prepare box yellow cake mix. Pour batter on top of pears. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 45 minutes or until cake is done.

3. Cool for 10 minutes; invert onto a decorative plate.
